About Patrick

A guitarist who loves teaching

Hi, i’m Patrick - I’m a professional guitar teacher based in Brighton, and I know how frustrating learning guitar can feel - I nearly quit myself early on.

That’s why I teach differently.

My goal is simple: help you enjoy playing guitar while making real, steady progress.

I’m a registered RGT tutor, DBS checked and hold professional teaching qualifications - but more importantly, I focus on making lessons clear, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable.

I specialise in teaching you songs and the styles you want to play: Classic rock, pop, campfire, finger style or songs to accompany your singing. I’ll get you playing songs faster than you thought possible.

What my pupils say:

  • Patrick has the perfect balance of patience & drive that makes his teaching both purposeful and enjoyable. You’ll love learning with him.” Arun Schofield (23), Brighton

  • “Patrick is endlessly patient and super approachable. He continues to adapt our lessons to what works best for me. Lessons are a pleasure. 100% would recommend.” Katherine Allen (36), Brighton

Common questions

  • Absolutely not. Most of my students are adults who either never played before or tried years ago and want to pick it back up. Adults are often quicker learners than children; you have motivation and context on your side.

  • For your first lesson, no, I can provide one. After that, I'll help you find the right guitar for your budget if you don't already have one. Acoustic or electric, both are welcome.

  • Most students are playing recognisable parts of songs within the first couple of lessons.

  • My studio is near Preston Park in Brighton. I also offer home visits across Brighton & Hove for a small additional fee.

  • Perfect - complete beginners are very welcome. We start from scratch and build up properly from the beginning, no assumptions made.
