About Me
I'm an experienced guitarist who loves to teach
I absolutely love teaching pupils how to play the songs they love on guitar. That feeling of satisfaction seeing a pupil progress and progress very quickly never changes.
Unfortunately, many guitar teachers focus solely on grades and exercises. They teach by numbers. My approach is different: I want to hear about the music you want to learn: Classic Rock & Pop, campfire, fingerstyle, folk, singer-songwriters so you learn guitar through the songs you love.
“Patrick is an incredible instructor. He knew exactly what I wanted to achieve and immediately understood my musical tastes offering up and extensive catalogue of songs to draw from. Patrick’s lessons allow you to walk away confident in a song you have just learnt.”

My teaching philosophy
How I think about teaching guitar
01
Songs first, theory second
Theory is useful, but it's not why you picked up a guitar. We start with real songs and learn the underlying concepts along the way — when they're relevant, not before.
02
Your taste, your curriculum
I don't have a set syllabus you work through. Tell me what you listen to, and I'll build our lessons around that. Your songs are the best possible motivation to keep going.
03
Progress you can feel quickly
Nothing kills momentum like feeling like you're getting nowhere. I structure lessons, so you have something real to show for it within weeks — not months.
04
No judgement, no pressure
Adults often feel self-conscious about being a beginner. My sessions are relaxed, encouraging, and completely on your terms. There's no wrong pace.
